Steven Weidner, MBA, PMP, Founder, Program Navigators, Inc.

Steven Weidner is recognized as a leading practitioner of program and project management. In his 24-year career, he has been involved in projects worth more than $9 billion and directly accountable as project manager for more than $200 million in projects. His experience guides his practical and effective approach in helping navigate companies and government agencies to improved business results.

Before founding Program Navigators, Steven had been a vice president with CH2M HILL, one of the nation’s largest and most respected engineering firms; a director of a project management firm; and a project manager at Boeing. In his nine years at Boeing, Steven developed and implemented an enterprise project management system in an R&D group of 700 scientists and engineers. He also helped found the Boeing Project Management Interest Group and led the team that installed the first-ever corporate project management job classification and career path.

Steven is a popular lecturer and the lead author of the book, “Accelerate Your Career as a Project Manager.” A long-time member of ProjectWorld’s advisory council, he has presented workshops on managing multiple projects at both ProjectWorld and PMI. He is an adjunct professor for the Master of Science in Project Management program at City University in Seattle and is a member of the program’s advisory board. He has also taught project management at the University of Washington in Seattle through the Transpeed Program. He is quoted in books, including “Winning in Business With Enterprise Project Management” by Paul Dinsmore and “Fast Forward MBA in Project Management” by Eric Verzuh, and in magazines, including Projects@Work and PM Network. Steven was a founding member of the Project Management Institute’s Puget Sound Chapter Executive Advisory Board and a one-time member of PMI’s International Project Management Research Committee.

Steven has earned degrees as a Master of Business Administration with Presidential Honors, a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, and a Minor in Economics along with numerous professional and client awards. He is also certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
